Join Print Making Demo with Rachel Mentzer! A printmaker who uses found and recycled materials to create collagraph plates to compare nature and manufactured objects. During her presentation, she will show how she uses different products, including cardboard layers and how the layers hold ink to create prints. From the 1830’s and through the 1890’s, the Passenger Pigeon was a beautiful bird and dominant species in the State of Michigan.  It was also the most hunted bird, with hunters and game dealers coming from as far away as New York and Texas to participate in the hunt. The program describes the events that led to the extinction of this remarkable species.
